Flat Roofs: EPDM Rubber and GRP Fibreglass

Flat Roofs

Old felt flat roofs crack, blister and pond water, and they are behind a lot of leaking extensions, garages and dormers. Modern EPDM rubber and GRP fibreglass roofs are seamless, hard wearing and need very little looking after.

We strip the old covering, replace the deck where needed, and lay a new rubber or fibreglass roof with proper upstands, trims and outlets so water runs off instead of sitting on it.

Questions About Flat Roofs

Questions
Rubber or fibreglass?

EPDM rubber is flexible and quick to lay. GRP fibreglass gives a rigid, hard surface that can take light foot traffic. We will recommend the right one for your roof.

Can you lay over my old felt?

Normally we strip it, so we can check the deck underneath. Covering a wet deck just hides the problem.

Why does water sit on my flat roof?

Usually not enough fall or a sagging deck. We correct the falls when we replace it.
